Joining the Marines with a continuation school Diploma?

So I know I f*cked up by dropping out in my junior year, and I don't really know why since I've been wanting to join the Marines every since 7th grade. I talked to my counselor and he told the only way I can get my diploma is if I go to a continuation school since my school only gives you 4 years to graduate. If I get my diploma there, will the Marine Corps see that it's from a continuation school and not let me join, or is it the same as a regular HS diploma? The school is in the same district as my normal high school. Even if it's not the same as a "regular diploma", anything is better than a GED right? I live in California btw.
